The Modesto St. Andrews Society will honor traditions of the past with its annual "Kirkin' of the Tartan".

This year the Kirkin will be held at
Christ the King Episcopal Church
6443 Estelle Avenue
Riverbank, CA
November 1, 2009

The service begins at 10:00 a.m.

Our group will parade in following the flag of Scotland. Piper Randy Francis will play the processional, recessional and Amazing Grace.

All members of the society are urged to attend, with their friends and relatives, to enjoy and participate in this time-honored ceremony. Wear Scottish garb, or bring a bit of your clan tartan to be blessed. There will be a roll call of clans, an explanation of the ceremony and its history and an opportunity to visit with the church members following the service. All are welcome, and St. Andrews wil provide cookies for the coffee hour to follow the service.

Directions:From Mc Henry Avenue or Oakdale Road in Modesto, turn right onto Hwy 108 (Patterson Road). Turn left onto Estelle (just 1/4 mile past  Oakdale Road).
